what my Body does

Our Social Relationship are the place where we really can see how and if we have been transformed.

Posing the question; how able am I to love, not just my brother and sister, but my neighbor and my enemy?

We’ve al been wounded relationally. The deepest are often family wounds. We’ve all learnt two forms of “evil” because of it:

Attack – we attack or assault others when we act against what is good for them. (Gossip, slander, hatred, bitterness, unforgivingness…)

Withdrawal – when we refuse to talk… The “I don’t know”’s and “Whatever”’s. We have learnt to withdraw from others when we regard their well being and goodness as matters of indifference to us… or go as far as to despise them. We don’t care.

The parent/child relationship set groundwork for all of our future relationships. Though never perfect, the foundation between parent and child can be strong and enable a child to grow towards relationships that give and receive and move towards health. But not all of us have been so lucky.

  • Spend about 1/2 hour reflecting and journaling on your relationship with your own mother and father and their effects on your current relational life.
  • Try to remember your earliest memory with either your mom or dad. How might this have effected you to enter into Godly relationships now? How did it affect your view of God?
  • Where do you find yourself attacking or withdrawing in your current relationships?
  • Is there something God want’s to say/reveal to you in regards to the Transformation of your relational life?

Can you envision the life you could have, when you:

DANCE as though no one is watching you, LOVE as though you have never been hurt before, SING as though no one can hear you & LIVE as though Heaven is on Earth
